BODY & CHASSIS

Each Sopwith body is handcrafted in aluminium and grp composite from a full body buck / mould created in house by our skilled craftsmen. The body is reinforced in key stress areas and once located to the chassis becomes a rigid structure.

The chassis is formed from thin wall stainless steel tubing. Once welded together it creates an incredibly lightweight but very strong structure that will not rust and is guaranteed for the life of the car. The chassis is supplied unpainted as standard but can be finished if required.

The period spoked front wheels run on a fully independent suspension with upper and lower wishbones and adjustable shock absorbers. The rear wheel is located via a swing arm again with an adjustable shock absorber.

Disc brakes are fitted to the front and rear hubs and give ample stopping power.

The aluminium leather padded driver’s seat is fixed in position but has a movable pedal box and tilt – extending steering wheel to create the perfect driving position. Vintage style instruments and switches are fitted to the aluminium turned dash panel.

The interior is finished in the finest quality leather and carpet and a matching removable cover is available for open top versions and if required the car can be driven while it is in place
